The
Rice Advanced Materials Research Institute has launched its 2026-2027 competition for prestigious postdoctoral fellowships - see here:
https://rami.rice.edu/rami-postdoctoral-fellowship-program for details. The actual application link is
here.
If you are interested and meet the criteria, I'd be happy to talk. I have some ideas that lean into the materials for electronics direction, and other possibilities are welcome.
Hi Douglas, I am interested to pursui this Postdoc with you. I am interested in energy materials side with a potential to discuss electronic/photonic materials. Hope to have a small discussion.
ReplyDeleteHello Prof. Douglas,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are doing well. I am Bharath and I completed my Ph.D. in Chemistry (May 2026) at Ashoka University under the supervision of Dr Munmun Ghosh.I recently saw your message about the RAMI 2026–2027 Postdoctoral Fellowship and am very interested in exploring a potential application with you as a host mentor.
My research experience is centered on the design and study of hybrid materials for electrochemical and photoelectrochemical small molecule activation reactions. This work has given me strong expertise in electrocatalysis, interfacial charge transfer, field-assisted electrochemical reactions involving electric, magnetic, and light stimuli, surface reconstruction, and materials characterization using EPR, XPS, UV–visible spectroscopy, and electrochemical methods.
While electronic materials represent a new research direction for me, I am particularly excited by your interest in this area. I see it as an exciting opportunity to apply my background in interfacial charge transfer, field-controlled reactivity, and functional hybrid materials to new challenges, while expanding my expertise in materials for electronics. I would be glad to discuss how my experience could contribute to related directions in your group.
Would you be open to a short online discussion via Zoom or Google Meet? I would be happy to share my CV and a few preliminary ideas beforehand.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration
Best regards
Bharath M

Dear Prof. Douglas Natelson,
ReplyDeleteI came across your post about this prestigious postdoctoral opportunity and am very interested in exploring the possibility of contributing to your research group. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Physics at IIT Kanpur, where my research focused on rare-earth-based magnetic and topological materials. My experimental expertise includes single-crystal growth, low-temperature magnetic and electrical transport, Hall measurements, magnetization, and thermodynamic measurements. I am also currently exploring rare-earth-based 2D van der Waals materials and investigating magnetic domains using AFM/MFM spectroscopy.
I also have extensive hands-on experience with arc melting, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), cryogenic systems, and PPMS measurements, including measurements using a millikelvin probe capable of reaching approximately 300 mK.
I would be grateful if you could consider my profile for this postdoctoral opportunity. My Google Scholar profile is available here:
